Biography
In 2001, Wes Grasty of Laburnum launched First Night on Earth during a search for fresh artistic outlets. The project brought together Stephen Yount on guitar, Chris London on bass, Tina Cargill handling vocals and guitar, and Vance Carlisle at the drums. First Night on Earth crafted a dense fusion of dream pop and space rock that aimed to equal the weight of Chapterhouse and Ride, then secured a contract with Liquilab Records in their home state of North Carolina during summer 2001. Their opening full-length, No One Knows Anything for Sure, appeared the following spring.
