Biography
Ryan Parks, performing as Fit of Body, creates dreamy, after-hours indie electronic music from his Atlanta base by channeling an eclectic mix of classic post-punk, underground hip-hop, techno, and the handheld, run-and-gun visual style associated with skate videos. Early cassette releases generated local interest, which expanded after the 2018 arrival of Black Box No Cops and the 2023 release of Far from Rhythm.
Parks spent his childhood and adolescence in College Park, Georgia, the Atlanta suburb where skateboarding first occupied his time. He later turned toward painting and began self-producing electronic tracks. After establishing a foothold within Atlanta’s active hip-hop and indie circles, he founded the Harsh Riddims label. Under the Fit of Body name he then put out multiple self-produced albums restricted to cassette format. His first proper full-length, Black Box No Cops, appeared in 2018 via the 2MR imprint. Far from Rhythm, the follow-up full-length, surfaced in 2023 and included guest vocals from fellow 2MR artist Elizabeth Wight.
