Biography
Fits crafts energetic guitar-driven pop marked by intimate perspectives, with the project orbiting the compositions of Nicholas Cummins, a native of York County, Pennsylvania. Before launching Fits, Cummins had played bass in Brooklyn outfits such as Fern Mayo and PWR BTTM; to assemble the band for its first recordings he enlisted guitarist Joe Galarraga of Big Ups, bassist Emma Witmer of gobbinjr, and drummer Brian Orante, formerly of Fern Mayo. Partly shaped by the loss of Cummins’ mother—an event that led him to revisit a troubled childhood and affirm a queer identity—the album All Belief Is Paradise appeared on Father/Daughter Records in 2017.
