Biography
The modern jazz ensemble Five for Jazz originated in 1984, created expressly as a touring vehicle for Italian pianist Luigi Bonafede. Across subsequent years the lineup incorporated altoist Massimo Urbani, tenorman Pietro Tonolo, bassist Piero Leveratto, drummer Paolo Pellegatti, tenor saxophonist Emanuele Cisi, and trumpeter Flavio Boltro. The group’s first recorded appearance, the live album Live in Sanremo and in Pesaro, appeared in 1984, with Soulscape following in 1996.
