Biography
Late in 2011, the Swedish pop trio Fjärilseffekten—whose name means “Butterfly Effect”—came together in Södertälje, southwest of Stockholm, with guitarist Hampus Blomberg, singer Hannes Wiklund, and drummer Anton Fernandez in its ranks. Before their first anniversary the group collected a regional prize, issued a self-produced EP, and appeared as support for popular Swedish artist Veronica Maggio at one concert tied to her chart-topping third album. Early in 2013 the band secured a high-profile contract with EMI, and by summer they unveiled the Dansa som en Idiot EP, whose title track earned substantial national radio rotation. Capitalizing on that momentum, the musicians kept writing and producing their own material while scheduling an album for release in late 2013.
