Flamethrower, sharing a label with Zeke and Camarosmith, revives hard rock in the spirit of acts ranging from AC/DC to Monster Magnet, doing so aggressively. The group merges Motorhead's hellish intensity with the gritty garage punk sounds of the Supersuckers, incorporating even Black Flag's shadowy atmosphere, to create a rustic powerhouse of heavy metal rage.
Formed in Seattle during 2000, the outfit consists of Brian High handling vocals and guitar, Yager on bass, Tony Rodriguez at the drums, and Chico King contributing backup singing along with guitar work. Their self-titled debut album, filled with intoxicated and furious energy, recounts stories of heavy drinking in a manner reminiscent of late ‘80s SST releases. Jack Endino, a renowned producer, handled the recording, and the release came out via his Dead Teenager imprint in 2003.
