Biography
Flourish blends elements of R&B, deep house, U.K. garage, and funk into a style radiating warmth and positive energy. The act launched in 2021 via the single “Time Stops” and followed with further releases, among them the 2023 EP Friendly Faces and the 2024 set Embrace.
Operating as the solo outlet for British producer and saxophonist Michael Keefe, Flourish began creating tracks while still young and received formal instruction on both piano and saxophone. After Sigala took notice of the material, Flourish joined the publisher Lighthouse. The electro-funk and R&B-inflected “Time Stops” arrived as the first single in 2021, with “Everything About You” appearing next and incorporating French house, disco, and U.K. garage textures. Later that year came the debut EP Gerbera. Although releases tapered during 2022, Flourish regained momentum the year after, issuing the singles “Words Can’t Describe,” “Sweatshirt,” “Make Me Believe,” and “Jealous.” Moving deeper into U.K. garage and deep house, Flourish opened 2024 with the sun-soaked “Moment (Just a Little Longer).” The EP Embrace, which housed that cut, surfaced several months afterward and contained the additional track “Marmalade (For Your Love),” a collaboration with Tommy Villiers.
