Biography

Comprising saxophonist Mark Turner, bassist Larry Grenadier, and drummer Jeff Ballard, the all-star post-bop and modern creative jazz trio Fly came together after the three longtime associates collaborated on a project led by pianist Chick Corea. Their first recording, the self-titled debut album, appeared in 2004 on Savoy Jazz. The group then shifted to ECM, issuing Sky and Country in 2009. Fly resurfaced in 2012 with the third album, Year of the Snake, again on ECM.
