Emerging from England’s Bristol urban area, Folkal Point issued a scarce 1971 LP of acoustic British folk that combined traditional pieces with interpretations of songs by then-contemporary, folk-rooted singer-songwriters including Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Tom Paxton. What most set the band apart was lead vocalist Cherie Musialik, whose clear, high-ranging tone recalled the finest British female folksingers of the era. Just 500 copies of the self-titled record were manufactured, half reportedly destroyed by flooding, and thirty-five years afterward the album had still not appeared on CD.
