Forgotten Tomb

An Italian black metal act blending elements of doom and goth, Forgotten Tomb began as Ferdinando Marchisio’s solo endeavor, launched once his prior band Sacrater had split apart. Operating alone at first, Marchisio delivered the EP Obscura Arcana Mortis in 2000 along with the albums Songs to Leave in 2002 and Springtime Depression in 2003, before assembling a complete group to record the third full-length effort, Love’s Burial Ground, issued in 2004. The collective signed with Avantgarde Music in 2006 and unveiled Negative Megalomania, which Season of Mist handled for American distribution. A collection titled Vol. 5 appeared in 2010, after which the fifth studio album, Under Saturn Retrograde, surfaced in 2011 on the Polish imprint Agonia. Later Agonia releases ...And Do Not Deliver Us from Evil in 2012, Hurt Yourself and the Ones You Love in 2015, and We Owe You Nothing in 2017 sustained the project’s focus on depression, nihilism, and suicide.
