Biography
Texas metallers Fostermother fuse doom’s crushing weight with the warped, psychedelic riffs of stoner metal. Formed in Houston during 2019, the project began as a duo when guitarist/vocalist Travis Weatherred and bassist Stephen Griffin joined forces. That pair released a self-titled debut the next year, drawing praise from doom devotees and prompting Ripple Music to sign them in 2021. Expanded into a trio by the arrival of permanent drummer Jason Motamedi, the band delivered its second album, the brooding and substantial The Ocean, in 2022.
