Biography
Framewerk, the British duo of Alec Milliner and Darren James, fuse progressive house, melodic techno, and anthemic breaks into tech-infused house designed for club play, as displayed on the 2021 single “Spiritual Revolution” and the subsequent album Full Circle.
The pair first established themselves in the early-2000s progressive house movement under the Manhattan alias while also building an audience around their forward-thinking Capital Heaven label. Adopting a broader, more melodic direction, they introduced the Framewerk name with the We Love… EP in 2012. Over time they folded breaks, melodic techno, and old-school rave elements into their productions and maintained an international DJ schedule. Framewerk earned a reputation for open-minded remixes, reworking tracks by Banco de Gaia, Anthony Pappa, and Hernán Cattáneo. In 2016 they marked the label’s 50th release with the debut album 50, which contained seven exclusive tracks; after a run of singles they returned in 2021 with the expansive, anthemic Full Circle.
