Born in Navojoa, Sonora, during September 1985, Francisco "El Chico" Elizalde arrived as the youngest member of the Elizalde dynasty in regional Mexican music. Although family expectations called for him to finish his schooling before committing to a musical path, he had longed since childhood to emulate his father and brothers. His father, Lalo "El Gallo" Elizalde, gave him the nickname "El Chico," underscoring his position as the last to enter the family’s artistic circle and the one who issued his first recording at the youngest age. Issued when he turned seventeen, the album No Quieren Que Te Quiera benefited from the success of its title track and video, which placed the project inside the Top Ten on charts across multiple Mexican cities. His second release, Llegaste, introduced the single "Amor a Primera Vista" and was soon followed by the widely played radio track and video "La Miedosa." In November 2006, Francisco’s brother, the recording artist Valentin Elizalde, was killed in a violent crime. Already a familiar media figure, Francisco found himself at the center of intense national coverage involving his brother’s burial, memorial services, and the broader aftermath. Along with other recording artists, he channeled his career into a tribute, issuing the 2007 album De un Elizalde Para un Elizalde through Universal Latino. That project brought him his widest audience to date, reaching number 23 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.
