Biography
Balancing a thriving business career alongside his artistic path, Franco Ambrosetti performs with distinction on trumpet and flügelhorn while drawing inspiration from Freddie Hubbard and Miles Davis. His father Flavio Ambrosetti distinguished himself as an excellent saxophonist. Although Ambrosetti received piano instruction across eight years, he remains self-taught on trumpet, an instrument he first approached only at age 17. A founding member of the George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band in 1972, he has additionally produced multiple worthy hard bop-ish albums for Enja while directing ensembles of his own.
