Biography
Frank Iero, the guitarist previously known for his work in My Chemical Romance, operates under the banner Frank Iero and the Future Violents as the latest vehicle for his solo work. The lineup includes guitarist Evan Nestor, bassist Matt Armstrong, drummer Tucker Rule, and Kayleigh Goldsworthy, and the group issued the album Barriers in 2019.
After his stints in both My Chemical Romance and Leathermouth, the musician from New Jersey initially stepped out on his own as Frnkiero and the Cellabration, delivering the raucous hardcore punk album Stomachaches in 2014. He next adopted the name Frank Iero and the Patience for the 2016 release I'm a Mess, which fused garage rock, emo punk, and hardcore into a raw, emotive sound. The project underwent its third rebranding in late 2018, leading to the arrival of Barriers the following year. Steve Albini, whose credits include Nirvana, Pixies, and Helmet, handled production, infusing the material with echoes of Iero's early-2000s emo and hardcore roots alongside the grit of the 1990s alt scene.
