Biography
Norwegian progressive metal outfit Frantic Bleep originated in November 2001 when Patrick Scantlebury, who covered guitar and synth, teamed with guitarist Eywin Sundstrøm and drummer Karl Arthur Renstrøm. Their assorted progressive and heavy metal inspirations coalesced on the demo CD Fluctuadmission, issued late the next year and also showcasing the recently enlisted vocalist/bassist Pål Mozart Bjørke, formerly of Madder Mortem. Recording contract offers soon arrived in volume. Following the arrival of new drummer Sten Erik Svendheim in mid-2003, the group launched sessions for its debut album, The Sense Apparatus, only months afterward. The effort stretched across an entire year yet proved ultimately worthwhile, with the finished record—containing guest vocals from Kjetil Fosseid, Daniel Solheim, and Madder Mortem’s Agnete M. Kirkevaag—appearing in early 2005 on The End Records.
