Biography
Fred Simon, the Chicago-based keyboardist, counts Larry Coryell among his collaborators and has issued leader dates featuring contributions from Oregon's Paul McCandless on reeds as well as Steve Rodby and Paul Wertico, the bassist and drummer from the Pat Metheny Group. In the fusion realm, the bands he assembles pursue a fresh angle on the music that evades the stereotypical pitfalls common to many practitioners. From the dawn of the 2000s onward, he has helmed several sessions for Naim, resulting in releases like Dreamhouse (2000), Remember the River (2004), and Since Forever (2009).
