Biography
During his early years, exposure to country music came naturally to Fred Travers since his parents operated a bar; he went on to study music formally, sing while attending school, and master both guitar and drums. A performance by dobro player Mike Auldridge in Washington, D.C., prompted him to adopt that instrument instead. Travers joined several groups across the Maryland region beginning in 1989, among them the Gary Ferguson Band and Paul Adkins & Borderline. Pinecastle Records has issued his solo album Radio Tone.
