Biography
Originating in Pittsburgh as a power trio, Fresh Blueberry Pancake came together in 1968 with singer/bassist Tony Impavido, guitarist John Behrens, and drummer Geoff Reidell. Two years of local performances allowed the musicians to gather both a following and enough original songs for a demo recording, which they pressed themselves in 1970 as the album Heavy. Limited to just 54 copies, the release has grown prized among collectors of plodding, monolithic acid rock, and the Shadoks label reissued Heavy in 2003. Following that album the group shortened its name to Pancake before dissolving in 1972.
