Biography
From an early age, Hauser found himself captivated by the drum rolls resounding through circus performances. During his teenage years, the percussionist developed a keen interest in rock groups such as the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Although he has worked with new music figures including Urs Leimgruber, Marilyn Crispell, and Joelle Leandre, his greatest recognition comes from his performances as a soloist. A large share of his solo material arises through improvisation, yet he also interprets written scores composed by himself as well as by John Cage, Pauline Oliveros, and Pierre Favre. The majority of his recorded output has appeared on the hatART label.
