Biography
New Jersey-based singer and guitarist Frank Iero launched Frnkiero and the Cellabration as his solo outlet. Long recognized as the rhythm guitarist in alt-rock giants My Chemical Romance and as frontman of hardcore act Leathermouth, Iero experienced a sharp escalation of chronic digestive troubles after MCR split in 2013. The stomach pain and nausea that had long troubled him led him to convert his basement into an ad-hoc studio, where he began crafting songs simply to divert attention from the discomfort. Without any fixed intention beyond easing those symptoms, he later reviewed the accumulated tracks and found them personal, potent, and stylistically distinct from his earlier bands. Former MCR touring drummer Jarrod Alexander joined the sessions, yet Iero performed every remaining part on the resulting album, aptly titled Stomachaches. Issued via Staple Records in September 2014, the record appeared under the Frnkiero and the Cellabration name.
