Streatham’s Frosty entered the drill circuit in 2019 through his opening release “County Lines,” steadily drawing listeners across the following year with an airy vocal manner that sketched stories of London trapping, street rankings, and individual gains.
Few newcomers earn widespread early buzz solely from a first single, yet the artist born Theo Beckford did exactly that, positioning himself among the scene’s standout prospects right after the track surfaced. His relaxed, offhand flow, comparable to figures such as M1llionz, soon earned a slot on the long-running U.K. freestyle series Daily Duppy and a guest verse from Queen’s Park rapper Fredo on the official “County Lines” remix.
During the opening months of 2020 the newcomer broadened his catalog with a run of crisp, confident cuts—“H20,” “Super Trapper,” and “Hate on Us,” the last featuring OFB’s Bandokay and DoubleLz. Momentum for his debut project built around its title track, “Under Surveillance,” an icy drill record that paired consecutive verses with Homerton’s Unknown T. The full tape Under Surveillance then arrived, merging his gliding drill approach with forays into trap and trapwave while spotlighting Teeway, Dirtbike LB, and K-Trap.
