FWC Big Key, also known as Cashgang Key, emerged in 2018 from the Michigan rap circuit, unleashing larger-than-life bravado through cocky tracks such as “FTO” and “Free Kay Flock” that quickly amassed millions of streams. His sharp delivery, piano-driven production, and unfiltered lyrics created an addictive formula that powered a run of high-impact mixtapes: Key to the World (2021), Industry Ready (2022), and Blackballed (2022).
The rapper launched his recorded career with the 2018 EP Welcome to Linwood, a set of street narratives grounded in his Linwood, Michigan roots and delivered over hard-hitting piano lines and booming 808s. Early singles like the Rio Da Yung OG collaboration “Pressure” built momentum toward his debut mixtape, Key to the City, which featured appearances from Rio, Realrichizzo, and BagBoy Mell while offering gritty interpretations of Michigan’s signature style.
