Formed during March 2006, G-5 stands as a Spanish supergroup that bridges multiple generations. Once the ensemble had officially assembled, its members launched songwriting and recording sessions that spring in Jemez de la Frontera, located in Andalusia’s flamenco heartland. Built around the guitars of Kiko Veneno, Muchachito, Marcos "Canijo" Del Ojo, and Diego "Raton" Pozo from Los Delinquentes plus the cajón work of Tomasito, the collective issued its debut album Tucaratupapi—a fusion of pop, jazz, and flamenco—in November of the same year.
