G Jones ranks among the leading names in North American bass music thanks to his fiercely inventive production methods. Glitch-hop and dubstep formed the core of his initial releases in the early 2010s, after which he steadily advanced his craft by weaving trap, acid, and jungle elements into an elaborate hybrid sound. Major EDM festivals regularly book him as a headliner, and his partnerships have encompassed Bassnectar and Eprom; he also joined forces with DJ Shadow to create Nite School Klik. Issued on his own Illusory Records in 2018, his expansive debut full-length The Ineffable Truth preceded a turn toward rave-driven material on later projects, including the 2022 EP Acid Disk 2 with Eprom and the collection Illusory Tracks. His follow-up album Paths, released in 2023, juxtaposes high-impact tracks with more contemplative ambient and IDM compositions.

Hailing from Santa Cruz, California, Greg Jones began on guitar during childhood before shifting to hip-hop and house production. Exposure to dubstep in 2008 prompted a move into bass music, first under the name Grizzly J. He launched digital EPs as G Jones in 2012 and completed his first national tour alongside Bay Area producer Minnesota in 2014. Additional work with Bassnectar supported both live performances and multiple album releases. DJ Shadow commended Jones’s command of Ableton for beat construction, leading the pair to form Nite School Klik and issue a self-titled EP on Liquid Amber in 2015; the same label released the Mind EP, a collaboration with Bleep Bloop. Jones inaugurated Illusory Records through the 2017 Visions EP and the Eprom joint Acid Disk. His debut album followed in 2018, with the Tangential Zones EP arriving the subsequent year.

Jones maintained a low profile during the COVID-19 pandemic before resurfacing in 2022 with Acid Disk 2, again alongside Eprom, and Illusory Tracks, which also featured ISOxo. The 2023 release of his second album Paths underscored further growth in his compositional range.
