Biography
Emerging without prior notice, Norway's GABIFUEGO flooded the scene with multiple tracks during the opening months of 2020. The material fused South American reggaetón with the hazy textures of Norwegian indie pop, all collected on the debut EP Romanticas.
Gabriel Muñoz, already performing as part of Bergen-based boy pablo, had reached wider attention through that group's infectious indie pop debut in 2017. Building on the momentum, Muñoz launched the solo outlet GABIFUEGO. Drawing on his Chilean heritage and Norwegian upbringing, he paired reggaetón rhythms with the bright melodies typical of Norwegian pop. Several singles appeared in rapid succession early in 2020, among them "Moviendo," "Para Nada," and the Astrid S-featuring "Contigo Tengo Feeling." These tracks joined newer songs to complete the October 2020 release of his first EP, Romanticas.
