Biography
Gabriel Crouch, a British baritone and choral conductor, began his musical training at eight upon joining the Westminster Abbey Choir, later serving as head chorister and performing as soloist at the 1986 wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. A scholarship enabled him to complete Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees at Trinity College, Cambridge, followed by a Master of Music at Butler University. In 1996 he entered the King’s Singers as second baritone, remaining with the ensemble for tours and recordings through 2004. He subsequently became music director of the early-music ensemble Gallicantus and secured a recording contract with the Signum label. Additional appearances have included the Winchester Cathedral Choir, Polyphony, Tenebrae, the Cambridge Singers, and the Gabrieli Consort, together with recital collaborations alongside lutenists Daniel Swenberg and Nigel North. Crouch has held the post of director for DePauw University Choral Ensembles and has also led the Princeton Glee Club.
