Born Garrison Christian on 27 February 1955 in Merseyside, England, the lead singer of the fraternal soul/harmony unit the Christians began his solo path in 1997, immediately after the formal declaration that his previous group had disbanded. In truth the Christians had already parted ways two years earlier, allowing Garry to spend that interim period recovering in Paris. Issued by Coalition Records, the former PWL Records, as the first installment of a three-album deal, Your Cool Mystery featured material developed alongside programmer and keyboard player Andy Wright. The ten tracks ultimately chosen for the album spanned gospel harmony on “Cry” and AOR rock on “Caged Bird.” Promotion centered on the single “Still Come Back To Me” rather than the more anthemic, plainly Christians-styled “Rise,” although the B-side “Smells Like Murder” received a remix from his ex-bandmates operating as Dog Productions.

In 1999 Christian rejoined Henry Priestman and Russell Christian to resurrect the Christians moniker. Live shows ensued through the opening years of the twenty-first century, after which the group finished its next studio set, Prodigal Sons. Once the supporting tour concluded, Garry Christian re-entered the studio to finalize his second solo album, How Does It Feel... .
