Formed as an occasional jazz ensemble, this trio brings together the profound abilities of guitarist John Abercrombie, born 16 December 1944 in Portchester, New York, USA; bassist Dave Holland, born 1 October 1946 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England; and drummer Jack DeJohnette, born 9 August 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Across three decades they have issued four outstanding albums, a clear measure of their command as players, since they can reconvene at irregular intervals and at once restore their original creative intensity.
