Biography
In 1994 the roots-rock ensemble the Gathering Field came together in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Singer and guitarist Bill Deasy headed the lineup, which also featured guitarist Dave Brown, bassist Eric Riebling and drummer Ray DeFade. The quartet issued its first album, Lost in America, through the independent Mudpuppy imprint. Its title track gained heavy local radio play, leading Atlantic Records to put out a remastered version of the set in 1996. Reliance appeared in 1999.
