Biography
Emerging from long-established roles within the Seattle music community, four associates launched Gazebos in 2014, crafting a loose yet forceful mixture of punk, garage rock, and vintage pop. Shannon Perry supplies lead vocals after prior work in Katherine Hepburn's Voice and Butts alongside a thriving career as a tattoo artist; TV Coahran contributes guitar following collaborations with cult hero R. Stevie Moore and ongoing operation of the GGNZLA record label; Shane Herrell handles bass for both Gazebos and Bread & Butter while also playing guitar in the First Times; and Jordan T. Adams sits behind the drums after earlier engagements with Monarchies and Spurm. The Pacific Northwest audience responded quickly, prompting the October 2014 release of the band's debut single, "Sauna" b/w "Worse Things" (the latter drawn from the musical Grease), via Coahran's own imprint. Hardly Art Records, the Sub Pop-distributed Seattle indie label, took notice the following year and offered a recording contract. The resulting sessions for the first album occurred inside the group's rehearsal room, with engineering and production entrusted to another local mainstay, Kurt Bloch of the Fastbacks and the Young Fresh Fellows. That effort, Die Alone, appeared in February 2016.
