Biography
Barati received his training at the Budapest Conservatory before becoming first cellist at the Budapest Opera. WWII prompted his relocation to America, during which period he held a teaching post at Princeton and directed a band in the US Army. His later career included cello duties in the San Francisco Symphony as well as conducting the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. Chamber Concerto and The dragon and the Phoenix rank among the most celebrated of his orchestral compositions.
