Georgia Gets By serves as the solo outlet for Broods vocalist Georgia Nott, where she explores an intimate and contemplative approach to expansive electronic sounds and dream pop tinged with folk elements. The project’s inaugural release, the 2023 EP Fish Bird Baby Boy, arrived via Luminelle Recordings.
After spending ten years alongside her sibling Caleb Nott in the duo Broods—crafting moody, collaborative electro-pop that reached the Billboard 200 and topped the New Zealand album chart—Georgia chose to unveil songs she had quietly shaped over several years. Once the pair concluded promotional duties and festival slots supporting their 2022 fourth album Space Island late the following year, the label issued Fish Bird Baby Boy in October. The set emphasized more personal, guitar-led material that leaned into lush dream pop rather than the percussive electronic style of her band, though it retained some connective threads.
