Biography
The Malaysian ska outfit Gerhana Skacinta modeled its approach on foundational acts in the style, particularly holding the Skatalites and the Wailers in esteem. Clockwork Records signed the group, which issued its debut album Boss Sounds in 2002. Before that first release, Gerhana Skacinta contributed tracks to the 2001 collection Tribute to Sweet Charity and appeared on the 2002 compilation Skali Skale. The band delivered its second album, The New Authentic, in 2004 and returned three years afterward with the third LP This Is Ska.
