Biography
Relocating from his longtime base in Boston to Las Cruces, New Mexico, multi-instrumentalist Justin Hubbard launched Germ House to channel his lo-fi, fuzz-saturated approach to solitary home taping and garage-punk composition. Prior to this venture, Hubbard had worked closely with his spouse and musical partner Tara McManus in the earlier group Turpentine Brothers as well as the subsequent project Far Corners; once Germ House expanded beyond a one-person endeavor, McManus resumed her role behind the drum kit. Bassist Joe Atoub completed the lineup, after which the three headed into the studio. Their polished studio takes were then blended with Hubbard’s domestic recordings for the 2014 debut album Showing Symptoms.
