Biography
Gingersol, an outfit based in Los Angeles, crafts rock that is delightfully melodic and rough-edged, evoking the Replacements, early Wilco, and a more scruffy Gin Blossoms while still bearing the group’s own distinct sonic stamp. Steve Tagliere and Seth Rothschild first connected after crossing paths repeatedly at concerts around L.A., where they recognized an immediate musical affinity. Tagliere, who had previously guided an earlier incarnation of Gingersol that later fell apart, chose to bring the band back to life once Rothschild came aboard. Although a steady stream of other players has passed through the lineup over time, the pair remained committed and captured 2000’s Nothing Stops Moving inside Rothschild’s garage studio. By 2001 the configuration had locked into place with the arrival of drummer John Florance and bassist Chuck Bramlet.
