Giorgio Gigli

Giorgio Gigli, a DJ and producer from Rome, specializes in spacy, hypnotic minimal techno. His tracks, marked by dense atmospheres and intricate sonic layers, frequently extend beyond ten minutes while shaping austere yet fluid extraterrestrial environments. Though active as a DJ for years, he started composing in 1999 and issued his debut 12", the Donato Dozzy collaboration "Chiki Disco," via Elettronica Romana in 2004. Additional releases followed on the same imprint through 2006, after which he placed material with Dumb-Unit and Mental Groove Records. Alongside recurring partner Obtane, Gigli launched the Zooloft label in 2009; together they put out close to a dozen joint 12"s that fused pulsing minimal techno with dark ambient drone. Subsequent Gigli recordings surfaced on Prologue, M_REC LTD, Outis Music, and assorted other outlets. Electric Deluxe issued his first full-length album, The Right Place Where Not to Be, in 2015, steering his aesthetic toward slower, denser, and more industrial territory.
