Biography
An American K-pop girl group, VCHA specialize in dance-oriented pop marked by catchy hooks and R&B shading. Their name, drawn from the Korean term for “illumination,” was first used when the six members—Lexi, Camila, Kendall, Savanna, KG, and Kaylee—were assembled in 2023 during the JYP Entertainment and Republic Records reality series A2K (America to Korea). The program set out to create the first all-American girl group by adapting the intensive K-pop trainee model.
After the show concluded, VCHA entered the Korean Circle charts in September 2023 with “Y.O.Universe,” a track later featured on their debut EP, SeVit (New Light). In December they issued a standalone version of the A2K theme, “Ready for the World.” Their first official single, “Girls of the Year,” followed in January 2024, with “Only One” arriving that March. At roughly the same time, member Kaylee paused activities for health reasons. Later in 2024 the group appeared as guests on Twice’s tour.
