Biography
Born to Belgian and Paraguayan parents, Latin pop vocalist Gizelle D'Cole entered the dance-pop arena following her work as a model and actress in Argentina, where she grew up. After completing training in dance, jazz, ballet, and guitar, she relocated to the United States with the goal of building a singing career. Introductions to producer Ric Wake in Miami and to Tommy Mottola during a Gloria Estefan concert in New York helped the young performer secure a contract with Sony Music. The partnership yielded her self-titled debut album, released in 1999 and spotlighting the hit single “Come Baby Come,” which she recorded with merengue star Elvis Crespo. Her track “Revancha De Amor” also found a place on the soundtrack of the film Music of My Heart.
