Glass Harp

Glass Harp emerged among the earliest Christian-themed pop/rock ensembles, featuring singer and guitarist Phil Keaggy alongside bassist Dan Pecchio and drummer John Sferra. The trio assembled in Youngstown, OH, during 1969 and operated as a free-form power trio modeled on Cream, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and fellow Buckeyes the James Gang. Local audiences quickly embraced the group, prompting a 1970 contract with Decca that yielded the self-titled debut album. The follow-up, Synergy, appeared the next year, yet Glass Harp dissolved after releasing It Makes Me Glad in 1972. Keaggy subsequently achieved notable success as a CCM solo performer, while Pecchio helped establish the Michael Stanley Band. In 1988 the original members reconvened for a single reunion concert.
