Biography
GLOWB function as an R&B “boy band” modeled after Color Me Badd and Boyz II Men, yet their multinational origins set them apart. Ray and Renny, the brothers, come from St. Marten in the Caribbean, Edge grew up in the Netherlands, and Noura was born in Morocco before relocating to Germany. The four first crossed paths inside Amsterdam clubs, where they cut the track “That Girl” alongside a local DJ. By early 2006 the recording had begun circulating through Holland and Germany. Later that year the members encountered R&B star Akon during his visit to Amsterdam and were promptly added to his Konvict Muzik roster. The label retitled the single “Damn That Girl” before issuing it globally in 2007.
