Biography
Glycerin emerged in 2004 as a Los Angeles-based duo that fused the drive of dance-rock with polished electronica textures. Korean-born, Texas-raised vocalist Anna Song launched her path in Los Angeles performing as a singer/songwriter; during her time there she developed a passion for electronic dance music and searched for a vehicle to explore that style. At the same time producer Rich M maintained an active schedule that included co-founding the Wifflefist artist collective, fronting the bands Polycarp and Friend Side Monkey in Chapel Hill, NC, and crafting electronic pieces across both his adopted state and his native Los Angeles. After settling back on the West Coast for good, he and Song connected via mutual friends and an unexpected encounter in London. Building early attention with their performances, Glycerin issued their first album, Motionless, through Red Station Records in January 2008.
