Biography
In Austin, Texas, the funkadelic groove outfit Gnappy began developing its wide-ranging sound in 1999, when Buck McKinney joined forces with local bassist Brad Bradburn. Both players had already become prominent figures on the Austin rock scene through their work in Killing Floor as well as Dewato, Zulu Time, Retarded Elf, and Year Zero. A mutual interest in acid jazz prompted them to complete the lineup with drummer Kevin Pearson and saxophonist Marcus Cardwell. The band’s self-titled debut appeared in early 2001.
