Go Betty Go unleashed their spiky, high-energy pop-punk from a garage in Glendale, California, during 2001. The lineup featured sisters Nicolette Vilar on lead vocals and Aixa Vilar on drums, alongside guitarist Betty Cisneros and bassist Michelle Rangel. The quartet performed relentlessly throughout the region, drawing notice from both the local Latin audience and the wider Los Angeles rock circuit. In autumn 2003 the group signed with SideOneDummy Records, after which their first EP, Worst Enemy, appeared the next spring. Extensive coast-to-coast touring followed, leading the band into the studio with producer Ted Hutt of Flogging Molly to record a debut full-length. Nothing Is More reached stores in September 2005, yet an abrupt cancellation of the remaining tour dates sparked breakup speculation. Although the rumors proved unfounded, Nicolette ultimately left the group in early 2006; by May the others had recruited Emily Wynne-Hughes as the new lead singer.
