Biography
Infusing indie rock with a mechanical flair, Go Robot, Go! produces energetic tracks marked by an artificial edge. Members perform under mechanical aliases including DC v.79 for bassist Dave Cribbs, JL Mod 12 for guitarist Josh Lowe, Nealbot for vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Neal Havener, and Drummer Unit JS2112 for Jim Swanson, while generating electronic textures through vocoders and synthesizers. Shows often feature stage items such as monitors and 16mm projectors. The four-piece first issued a self-titled album as Shinola before adopting the name Go Robot, Go! in 1997. Convertible, an effects-laden collection of upbeat rock songs, appeared in July 1999. The EP Supervacation arrived during summer 2000 and favors breezy, 1960s-styled pop. Wait Three Days...Then Attack followed in early 2001.
