Biography
Goldcure crafts an inspiring strain of alternative pop and rock shaped by the Verve, U2, and Radiohead’s more approachable material. Founding members Adam Buhrman and Craig Haskell first crossed paths in 2002, though the band’s complete roster did not solidify until 2006. From 2003 onward the pair performed across South Florida under the provisional name Lillyock Timber and secured steady bookings at several neighborhood bars. Their debut full-length, Don’t Apologize, appeared in 2004; the following year drummer Gavin Inverso joined, expanding the duo into a trio. Rising visibility prompted the musicians to leave Florida for Austin, TX, where they adopted the name Goldcure and built larger local followings through continued shows. Bassist John Allison came aboard in 2007, after which the quartet enlisted producer and manager Stephen Doster to record Portuguese Prince in 2008.
