Gordon Zacharias, recording under the Fan Modine moniker as singer and guitarist, shaped luminous yet sorrowful chamber pop that first appeared with his initial 1998 release Slow Road to Tiny Empire. Heightened electro-acoustic experimentation then marked the project’s next effort, sophomore album Homeland.
