Seattle natives Gorilla pursue individual careers as a doctor, boat-builder, graphic artist, and Muzak producer, thereby dismantling the notion that veteran punk musicians are fit only for fast-food employment. Their opening full-length Deal With It illustrates that age presents no obstacle to delivering scorching 1960s-style punk propelled by dual guitars. Organs join pronounced echoes of The Sonics and The Stranglers as the quartet later crystallizes this approach across Squid Row Daze (1994) and Obliterator (1996). Steady professional schedules rendered cross-continental touring unworkable, yet the band still managed to issue Too Much for Your Heat in 1999 and Genetic Joke during fall 2000.
