Biography
Emerging as a fresh millennial presence within glam rock, the Texas-based alternative rock quartet Goudie secured its deal with Lars Ulrich's Music Company label. Frontman Johnny Goudie, guitarist Jimmy Messer, bassist Einar, and drummer Bill Lefler each reference a broad range of touchstones that include Kiss, Bob Dylan, the Pretenders, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Oingo Boingo's Danny Elfman. Those varied tastes shape the quartet's high-energy, irreverent style and inventive approach on its debut album, Peep Show, which appeared in July 2000. The record lists contributions from Wire Train's Kevin Hunter, Go-Go's guitarist Jane Wiedlin, and guest vocals supplied by singer/songwriter Aimee Mann.
