Great American Canyon Band

Great American Canyon Band serves as the pastoral indie folk outlet for the musical and marital partnership between Paul and Kris Masson. Natives of Baltimore, Maryland, the pair devoted several years to roaming across the United States and spent stretches in Georgia, California, and Illinois, the latter location marking where their earliest material began to form. Drawing from sources that range from Mazzy Star to Gram Parsons, the duo cultivates an indie folk style defined by its textural qualities and suggestive of long empty roads alongside expansive vistas. The self-recorded and self-released debut EP surfaced in 2012 and garnered initial acclaim for the project, yet family matters soon summoned the Massons back to Baltimore and imposed a brief pause on their musical activities. Once they regrouped, the pair secured an agreement with Six Degrees Records, which brought about the 2015 reissue of their Crash EP even as the duo finished shaping their inaugural full-length effort. Spring 2016 saw the arrival of Great American Canyon Band’s first LP, Only You Remain.
